Don't get your hopes up- there aren't any Triassic tyrannosaurs yet. Rather, this an example of one of the rules of paleo reporting:
-In any article that talks of theropods, a mention must be made of its relationship to T. rex.
Likewise:
-In any article that mentions a prehistoric environment, it's the "real Jurassic park".
-Theropod teeth are always razor-sharp, no matter how big and blunt the denticles are.
-Theropod teeth are RAZOR-FUCKING SHARP
Come on, journalists. There has to be a way for you to write articles about science without it being buried under a pile of cliché, lameness and bullshit. And this doesn't just apply to paleo (scientists find the gene for...)
